Randy's Run 5K

Randal Madison was known for his compassionate nature and a gift for writing, while teaching at Lake George Elementary School. Randy grew up in Saratoga Springs and lived in Hudson Falls with his wife and two sons. He loved the sport of running and cherished the time he spent after school running with his teaching partners. In 2001, Randy died unexpectedly at the age of 31, so his colleagues, friends, students and family set up the “Randy’s Run 5K” in his memory. The racecourse follows the typical route that Randy ran and enjoyed so many times after school with his friends.

Murphy's Mile Fun Run

Ed Murphy was a beloved teacher at Lake George Elementary School with 34 years of service to “the company.” In addition to his love for family and work, Ed’s passion was running. The "Murphy’s Mile Fun Run" was designed to honor Ed’s love for running by encouraging children and adults of all ages to get out and hit the pavement. Ed’s family carries on the tradition by participating in the “Randy’s Run 5K” and “Murphy’s Mile” each year. When family and friends meet for these special races, we can be confident that Ed still has his eye on us!
